You are a Creator

Your World is Your Creation

Most of us believe that we are separate individuals experiencing the same (or similar) objective reality. In this understanding, we seek consensus with others about the nature of the reality we all share - and we call this reality our world. When we experience dysfunction or challenge, we attribute this to some quality or aspect of the world. For example, if we receive a parking ticket, we commonly blame the person or institution from which it came. If we become ill, we often trace the cause to someone else from whom we "caught" it.

In this paradigm, the world is seen as an external collection of forces and circumstances acting upon us in various ways. In response, we seek to control (or at least make sense of ) what we experience as separate from ourselves. When things go as we wish, we consider ourselves "lucky" or deserving. When we are challenged or under duress, we feel we are unlucky or unworthy.

But, in a more truthful understanding, we find that things may not be as they appear on the surface. It has been suggested by many individuals from a more "awareness-based" perspective, that the world is as we are, and our reality is simply a reflection of what we believe it to be. This is quite a revelation for most of us, because it means that we actually create our world, rather than our world creating us. This places us in a position of great potential power (and responsibility), but it is up to us whether or not to make use of it. Once we understand that our world is our own creation, we are free to create it differently (or not) as we see fit.

This week, let us bring focus to another way of living in relation to our world. Whatever comes into our experience, whether it be a person, situation or simply an event, consider that it is an opportunity to choose. Choose what? Choose to accept your experience as your own creation or else see it as something separate from yourself. For this week, whenever you remember, just try an attitude of acceptance and see what happens....

Another wise tidbit from Synchronicity.

Remember your perception shapes your reality! More on this thought later. It is very important.
