Meditation Music - Day 3 - Pure sound

I love binaural technology and I think it one of the best and most economical ways to achieve a deep meditative state. But it does have one drawback and that is the fact that you need to listen through headphones or stereo separated speakers.

So, is there any other way to reach a blissful and fully relaxed state? Of Course! Yogis and Shamans have been doing it for thousands of years without any music at all. It just took them years of dedicated practive to learn how to do it.

But if you are in a bind and don't have any headphones, all is not lost. Even if music doesn't have binaural beats, it can still assist you in your meditation sessions.

Music in general evokes deep emotions. You just need to find the music that evokes the relaxation response. For some this is Bach, others it could be a new age music such as Steven Halpern.

My favorite is music with deep bass tones that resonate within your body. If this appeals to you then you must try CDs from Jonathan Goldman. A master of tibetan chanting.

I often will alternate my meditation session with binaural enhanced CDs and regular relaxation music. The key here is to experiment and have fun.

Tomorrow - CDs for the Alpha brain state.
